Mr Shah has taught clinical ophthalmology to medical students at Guy’s King’s & St Thomas’ medical school (2009-2010), gave lectures in ophthalmology to trainee GPs (2012), and was an examiner for medical students at Guy’s King’s & St Thomas’ medical school in London in 2010 and 2013.

In 2010-11 Mr Shah was invited to contribute questions to the International Council of Ophthalmology for the ICO Standard Examinations, and between 2012 and 2013 was regularly tasked with supervising junior surgeons and teaching cataract surgery at King’s College Hospital in London and the Sussex Eye Hospital in Brighton. Since arriving in Jersey in 2014, Mr Shah has been teaching retinal imaging interpretation to senior nursing staff.
